  1. How can I register to be an Ambassador? Please register at Oranim Ambassador page. You must agree to the guidelines of the Oranim Ambassador program to register.

  2. How many people do I need to recruit to go to Israel free? For the Summer 2008 (May, June, July and August 2008) recruitment season only, Ambassadors who have referred 10 or more people who successfully complete a Taglit-Birthright Israel program operated by Oranim during the Summer 2008 trip season are eligible for returning to Israel free. All 10 must participate during the Summer 2008 trip season. Read the Ambassador Guidelines for additional information.

  3. What if I don't get 10 people to go? You still may be rewarded with a free trip since Oranim rewards those who make a real effort to market and recruit. However the decision is at our discretion. Those that recruit 10 people or more are automatically given top priority.

  4. What if I am not an Oranim Alumni? Oranim Ambassador program is open to all young Jewish people that want to express their love of Israel by referring their friends on our Taglit-Birthright Israel program.

  5. Can I travel with an Ambassador I choose or with the participants I recruited? As a rule, we do not place Ambassadors on a trip that includes the friends they recruited. In addition, only in very rare circumstances will you be paired with another Ambassador of your choice. There are a lot of regulations and variables involved in operating and staffing the trips that are related to Taglit-Birthright Israel and are not in Oranim's control. Therefore, your flexibility is the key!

  6. Can I just get a plane ticket and go when I want? Not through the Oranim Ambassador program.

  7. If I choose not to go this season can I go next season? Free trips are redeemable only in the current recruitment season. One may not "postpone" their trip to a future Taglit-Birthright Israel season without the express written consent of Oranim.

  8. How can I keep track of the people I recruited? To be given credit for referrals, Ambassadors MUST use Oranim's QuickReferral system For your convenience, during the recruitment season, you can see and download a list of your referrals from the QuickReferral Reporting Center. Soon after official registration starts, you will be able to view a report detailing the status of referrals you made. For the current recruitment period, we expect the first such report to be issued during September 2007.

  9. How do people refer me as the person that recruited them? Friends cannot "refer" Ambassadors. Oranim's QuickReferral system requires that YOU (the Ambassador) enter your friend's name into QuickReferral. Oranim will not be responsible for crediting you for referrals not entered via QuickReferral.

  10. What if someone registers on Taglit-Birthright Israel and forgets to write my name in as the one who referred? As mentioned above, the only way in which Oranim can track your referrals and reward you for your work is when you enter your referrals in the QuickReferral system It is wise as well to keep a list of the people you recruited so we can verify the names when we choose our staff and quantify the people you recruited.

  11. Does mass marketing, info table's campus or writing articles to the media make a difference? Yes they do and we take this type of activism very seriously when we choose our staff for the trips. Mass marketing and promotions are crucial in our efforts and we encourage you to be as creative as possible in your marketing efforts. Please keep update us on your efforts and let us know if you need any materials or advice.

  12. What are the requirements for staffing a Taglit-Birthright Israel: Oranim trip? The minimum requirements are: you must be at least 21 years old by the time your trip departs, have experience in Israel, exhibit leadership qualities and attend all mandatory staff training sessions. Other qualifications may apply.

  13. What other opportunities/trips does the Oranim family offer? There are many other opportunities that we offer exclusively to Ambassadors to come back to Israel free or on highly subsidized trips. These include leadership missions and Aliyah pilot trips. Oranim reserves the right to reward Ambassadors with trips to Israel that are associated with Oranim's other projects, some of which may not be affiliated with Taglit-Birthright Israel programs.

  14. Tell me what to do! What can I do to more to recruit and promote? There are lots of things you can do to help us out. Email us for details about what's needed today.

  15. How do I get promotional materials? Oranim provides promotional material to Ambassadors if needed for tabling and promoting. To get a supply, email ambassadors@israelfree.com or call our North American office toll free at 1-888-281-1265.

  16. I live in an area where there are not many Jews what can I do to recruit? Personal, peer-to-peer recruitment is the best way to encourage others going to Israel FREE. Attending community events and visiting synagogues even in small Jewish communities is crucial. However Oranim Ambassador program offers a number of opportunities outside of personal recruitment -- for example working Facebook, MySpace, Friendster and similar sites. Email us for more ideas.

  17. When will I be notified that I was awarded a free trip? Approximately one month before the first trips of the season depart is when we begin the reward and staff selection process. We will be sending out communications at that time to qualified Ambassadors.

  18. What is my role and responsibility as staff if I am chosen? If you are selected to be a staff member, your job will be to help the main Oranim Israel tour leader in all aspects of the trip. In addition, in staff training sessions that will take place before your trip you will be informed of your specific responsibilities. Most of all, you are to be a role model for the participants.
